A Legacy of Excellence

Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity for African Americans, was founded at Cornell University on December 4, 1906 by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood.

Today, Alpha Phi Alpha has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African-Americans and people of color around the world, with over 200,000 members initiated.

KZL Education Foundation

Established to make a significant difference to students who need financial assistance while striving for academic excellence. Through generous donations, we invest in future leaders.
This year we will be awarding six recipients with a non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $500. If the applicant pool allows, the six scholarships will be awarded as follows:

Six (6) 2026 graduating high school seniors who are residents of Montgomery County or Fort Campbell

Scholarship criteria

Application Requirements

  • Must be a resident of Montgomery County/Fort Campbell and have applied to any college/university for the fall semester 2026
  • Must be graduating from high school by the summer of 2026
  • Must be able to prove acceptance prior to receiving the scholarship
  • Must submit high school transcript and copy of test scores with application 
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Must have a minimum composite score on the following:
    • ACT 17SAT 1130 or SAT 1130
  • Must complete a 200–300-word essay on one of the topics listed on the application
  • Must submit postmarked application by May 31, 2026.
